Ghoul-icious Food and Freaky Fun!
Halloween is all about spooky treats and dressing up as ghouls and goblins. Halloween may also mark the first school party of the year for many students. The goal for most room parents and teachers is to make the party as fun and safe as possible. Of course, time and the mess factor always play a part in school parties so be sure to keep things as simple as possible, especially for the younger grades.
The most successful parties are the ones that have a theme throughout the party and that give equal time between eating and games. Halloween is a great time to throw a theme party since there are so many fun things associated with this holiday.
Here are a few simple school party ideas for Halloween that are fun for grade school kids of all ages!
- The Brain Dig -This oozy-gooey game adds just the right amount of gore to the party. It is super simple and kids love digging through the brains to find the treasure.
- How Many Costumes Can You Wear? - This game is so fun that you may not ever find a winner because everyone is too busy laughing!
- Big Green Boogers on a Stick-8 ounce cheese dip 3 or 4 drops green food coloring 2 dozen pretzel sticks Pour cheese dip in microwave safe container and melt according to container directions. Carefully stir 3 to 4 drops of food coloring into the cheese dip. Dip the tip of each pretzel stick into the cheese and let cool. Dip again. Repeat this process until boogers have formed on the end of each pretzel stick. Let boogers cool on a greased cookie sheet or wax paper.

Games
Cook one package of spaghetti noodles until well done. Let cool in the refrigerator. While spaghetti is cooling, gently peel a handful of grapes to add to the mixture. Pour the spaghetti mixture into a plastic bag, such as a Halloween bag. Bury small balls such as golf balls or ping pong balls in the noodles. Hold the bag above each childs head and see who can find the most balls within a certain amount of time.
Bring two boxes of equal amounts of old clothes and parts and pieces of Halloween costumes such as wigs and costume jewelry.
Divide the class into two equal teams. When the timer starts, each player must put on as many full costumes as possible within a certain period of time. When the time is over, the person with the most complete costumes wins the round.
Food
In a large bowl (or try a witchs caldron for added effect) mix two liters of fruit punch soda. Add one half-gallon of orange juice. Stir carefully and gently add in a block of dry ice. Be sure that only adults serve this beverage as the dry ice can burn the skin.
